  1. Hello. Thank you for all your great teaching. I particularly like your enthusiasm. I am currently starting to learn PHP, and it is a bit messy for me right now. I am in the Beginners PHP set of videos, the sixth one down: "Setting Up Wamp (windows users only) Part 2". I have wamp installed, and it appears to be running, although there is no indicator for PHP such as with apache and mysql. I built the first page and saved it to the www file inside wamp on the C:\ drive. I did not put it inside a folder. The page is called "PHP_study_variables" When I put in http://127.0.0.1/PHP_study_variables/ an 404 error page comes up. I looked at the video again trying to line it up again. According to what my phpinfo() page looks like, it never saved it in the www folder, although it is there. In the video you jump from what looks like a folder to the browser page showing the correct result. Was the page saved inside the folder? What extension did you put on it? .php? I tried saving it as a .php page, as an .html page, and nothing comes up. What extension do I save it as? If it is a script page, it is .php isn't it? I must not be getting this. Please advise. I am embarrassed to have missed something that must be obvious to others. Thanks again.
  2. Hello Thank you for all your great work and being such an encouragement to learn more about code and Wordpress. From what I've been taught, Wordpress can be a very good SEO tool if it is kept up and new entries are made every day. I did do entries on my web site for about 90 days last year and my articles began showing up on Google. It was very interesting. Now, here is why I am writing. I have a website http://www.secondwindstaging.com that I am using to sell lighting equipment. It is entirely HTML, and I have been trying to work to convert it over to CSS, and that will happen soon (I truly hope). I was considering converting the web site over to a Wordpress site. I was also considering instead to put a Wordpress blog on the site at the second level. Question: Would SEO work better if the whole site was Wordpress? Would Wordpress be stifled if it is put on the second level? Would the Wordpress articles come up on Google as readily if it is installed on the second level? Another question: Will Wordpress hold HTML, or will I need to use CSS. The thought is daunting because I am not ignorant about how long it takes to learn any code. I'd like to get the Wordpress up soon. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your great help. Sincerely, queenpictoria
