  1. hmm, ... will keep trying I guess (though the fact that you cant see any of this is now confusing me even more Lynne). What are 'haslayout triggers' Eric - a technique for debugging of some sort?
  2. Weird - definitely something funky going on with position on my PC - will see if I can get a screen grab just for reference. XP home. IE7.05 (screen res 1280 x 800) Am just for the first time noticing an unnecessary horizontal scroll bar as well. :/
  3. Dont know where I am going wrong or whether it is really a CSS positioning or JQuery issue but am tearing my hair out trying to control the positioning of one image! :/ http://www.thebeverley.com The 'read more' button under the text in the middle works as a toggle to expand the page with some simple JQuery. All fine in Safari and FF but in IE7 the 'read more' image is hanging way off the bottom of the page doing its own thing. Tried what seems like everything but How can I get it positioned back where it should be in IE? Many thanks for any suggestions and apologies if this is just downright sillyness!, D
  4. Hi Wickham, Apologies for the radio silence but I finally got a chance to explore your more detailed explanation which was excellent and though I still have a way to go (like getting my head around what "clear" is really for) this was a great help! Many thanks for taking the time to explain this simple concept clearly!
  5. Thanks very much - though Im not sure it has really solved my issue... the reason I have the "float: right" for the page is because I want the whole 'page' content to align itself to the right of the browser (i.e. if the window size is increased the content will move out to the right away from the logo in the top left.) Is there something I am missing in your suggestion?
  6. Hi there, I am trying to get rid of the horizontal scrollbar on this site: http://genesis-boutique-travel.com/ I have been using firebug to better understand why it is turning up but the changes I have to make to get rid of it undermine the layout I am after. I would like the 'page' to align to the right of the browser window (with a margin of around 80px). More or less as it looks now I think but without that darn scrollbar.:/ Any suggestion of where I am going wrong would be much appreciated! thanks, D
