  1. I am on a mac right now I cant remember the keys. I think when you are viewing the site hit the print screen key and then you can go to paint program and paste it there, and then save and send. Corinne
  2. Which version of XP should I get? Is the home version good enough or do I need professional. What is the OEM version? Sorry for all the questions! I get sooo many different answers when I google it, and I trust the answers here Corinne
  3. Thanks everyone, Susie..........Well I am jealous, of the great work you do!!! Now that I have a mac, I better get better at web designing (well that is what my husband said). I do hand code even when I use dreamweaver, i just use dreamweaver to preview quickley (I know it does not show things perfectly but is good for a quick look). I will look at coda....does this allow you to preview in a browser easily? Also with coda should I still get a FTP like forklift or does it have a good FTP program?. I did buy VMware but have not installed it yet, I was looking at buying XP first and then I will have to figure out how to install it. Do you have any recommendation on where to buy the windows XP on line? Thanks Ben and Virtual for taking the time to answer my questions!!!! Corinne
  4. I finally did it, I bought a macbook. What is the best text editor to use for coding websites? And any other suggestions for software would be appreciated. I can get a really good deal on Dreamweaver and Photoshop and will probably get them. Thanks, Corinne
  5. Thanks Ben and Eric!! I have been going back and forth on getting a mac or not for the last few months. That sounds like a good idea, I will look at the refurbished models and I never thought about down loading a trial version of VMWare or Parallels I will also do that before buying one of them. Corinne
  6. My dell computer is starting to fade and I have been considering getting a mac for a while now. I was going to go to the apple store tomorrow and see what they had. I have read a bit on vfusion and parallels (sp?). What is the best way to view IE with a mac? I will not need it to run any windows programs I just want to be able to view a website that I am working on in IE. I could use my pc to view IE but it would be easier to be able to see it on the mac. I have heard of crossover i think it is called, but it says that it does not render IE7 or 8 correctly. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help, Corinne
  7. Ok..........I think I must bve understanding you wrong. I could not get it to work:( I am going to try to do it again....maybe I missed a tag or something, but could not get that to work. thank you for all your help, corinne

  9. Darn I was hoping it would be an easy fix.......this is the gallery they wanted with the scroll bar underneath. I had originally used one of your designs Eric and then they seen this and want it. I just can not get it to work, I might have to talk with them and see if they will go with something else. Thank you, Corinne
  10. Ok.......I have been working on this for days and can not get it. I kinda got it in FF but not in IE. What happens is that when I change my screen size the larger picture moves over to the left or right and does not stay centered above the thumbnails. I down loaded this gallery from Stu Nichol and since I did not code it from start to finish I am having a hard time figuring out what I need to do to get this to stay put. I am also not very good with absolute positioning(it confuses me). I am doing this site for my friends son and they are getting kinda anxious to get the gallery up and running and I just can't seem to figure this out. My latest attempt I changed the #info and #thumb to a width of 450 hoping it would stay inside that width....it did work with FF but is not working with IE(the width was originally 630 I think. htt p://nex xgenerationconst.co m/gallery3.php Thank you in advance for any help you can give, Corinne
  11. ok.... I contacted the hosting company and what they did is park the domain under the main domain. So, if i type in nexx paintingpros(dot)com it goes to nexx generationconst(dot)com but in the url you do see nexxpaintingpros........is this ok or do i want it so that when you type in nexxpaintingpros i should see nexxgenerationconst. I don't want to get in trouble for duplicating content. They did say they can put it as a sub domain and through the htacess file do a redirect. thanks for your help, Corinne
  12. Thanks Thelma, I was wondering about that, but would that affect the SEO.....could they get penalized for duplicate content? Corinne
  13. what is the best way to do this. I have two domain names something like nexxconstruction and nexxpainting I want them both to point to nexxconstruction do I need to us a 301 redirect? What is the best way? And do you have a link to how to do a redirect never done one before there are a bunch out there when I google and just wondering which one is better? 20. Hi Thelma...Thanks for all the help you always give me!! I did get it to work, I think. But still need to figure out how to get some dots to go across to the prices. I think it would look better that way. Thanks again for all your help....my mind has so much of this coding stuff in it that i can't find anything:P I don't know how you guys...and gals remember all this stuff. Thanks a million, Corinne
  21. I do understand that if it is not working in FF then I have coded something wrong or in my case alot of things. Thanks for all your help....................So I can do this in a table and I won't get my hand slaped:D I am going to try to fix what I have with css and if all else fails I will do it with a table. Thank you, corinne
  22. I know i am doing something wrong (banging head again....getting lots of holes in my walls). htt p://w ww.tristark9.com/simo ntontest/menu.php I am doing a restaurant menu and I had originally did it in photo shop as a jpg. And now i am redoing in in css and html. It looks ok in IE but it is all jumbled in FF. Do you have any suggestions to correct this and maybe what I could do to make it look better. I was trying to do dots......from the item to the price but could not get it to work so it looked even, so I took them out. Thanks in advance, Corinne
