  1. View this link: 67.22.1 30.184/sto re/pc/Poly-Bag-8X4X18-Light-Weight-1-000-Roll-438p5853.htm (remove two spaces) Click on 'Add To Cart'. What happens is a small popup window appears in the center of the screen. It works fine in all browser including Chrome but I have one person says that it floats way over to the left outside the framework area. If you don't see the popup at all then you ou may have to view this at a high resolution. In any case, if you do find that the popup is out of place let me know. If you by chance know what the solution is again, please let me know that too. Thanks.
  2. I remember my first IBM machine. It was bulky in size which took up half of my desk space and had a whopping 640k physical memory with no ram running on DOS 2 version. Back then they didn't have towers but boy I thought I was something special when I had two 5 1/4" floppy drives. I didn't start using Windows until version 2 which was back in the mid 80's. Here's a interesting version history for DOS. Version history for Windows. In case you didn't know, computers have been around for about 75 years. Of course it was not a house hold item unitl the 80's then it really exploded when Windows 95 came out which support email, fax, etc.
  3. Weather.com OAP or widget Accuweather Yahoo Weather Weather Reports There may be more but that should get your started. I googled the phrase "add weather to your site" to get that list.
  4. I do not because the IE6 market share is around 3%. I quit coding it when it fell under 5%. If a client has a target audience of IE6 then I inform them that it's an additional fee to support a old version. If you are going to use CSS3 markup than you may want to provide an alternative (conditional comment) for IE7 and IE8. IE6 again I don't mess with. Keep in mind that other browsers do not support some of the CSS3 markups as well. Most are older versions (i.e. Firefox 3.6 or earlier, etc.). So again, you may have to provide an alternative for those browsers if they don't display the CSS3 markup correctly. Yes. I prefer the js that detects IE6 browser which will then post a notice that the site may not render correctly using that broswer version. You can google it and find several options that you can use. You can use W3 Counter which is the closes thing where stats are not bias.
  5. Yes...that's what you need to style to the parent when you have a dropdown open.
  6. You will need to break it down some because using the image tag along with mouseover will swap the entire images. In a nutshell, set up your box image to not have 'GO'. Place that box image to be as a background via css instead. Now create the GO image to be used as a background for the anchor tag with the necessary width/height applied. You can then position that anchor tag to the lower right of your boxes.
  7. That one looks a bit dated because the script is not supplying a sf-Hover to make the parent link to stay highlighted at a color you desire. Now maybe I don't quite understand what you mean by 'stay gray' since I was unable to view your site example but maybe this superfish will deliver what you are looking for.
  8. It sounds to me he's getting stuff for free. I have one so-called client that paid me to make a few changes to his site which was fine but then all the sudden he just kept coming up with more changes and questions and expected me to do them all with no additional cost. You can let him know that you don't mind helping him but your paying customers come first which is what I said to one of my client. Weeks go by...he makes more request but I kept telling him the same answer, "Will get to it when I have the time but right now I have paying customers to tend to." Several more weeks went by and he hints again about helping him with his site. I hinted back at him about the work load I have. After a few more months, he finally called and wondered what it would take to get his site done. In a nutshell I told him 'A contract'. Believe it or not the guy had no problem with paying for my services. Contract signed. Deposit made. Work was done within a month. All invoices paid. Both of us are happy campers!
  9. Some clients do not have a clue about building websites and so they think it's simple as pie for you to get it done thus it doesn't take much time. I agree with Ben. You probably need to make a decision that is best for you. Next time when you bid on a project, give the prospecting client how many hours it would take to build it and then state that the project could go over or under that time frame. Always give them a update of the time spent. Typically I would keep my client up to date by informing them how many hours were spent each day. Inform your client when they have only a few hours left (5 or less hours) and discuss payment. If you finished the project under that time frame then bill them only for the time spent. This will put a smile on the client and more than likely will use that extra time for other things for you to do. As always, get at least 25% down payment before starting a project. Thereafter, bill them weekly or every set of hours (10 hours, 20 hours, etc.)
  10. I'm seeing that you are using positioning to place your menu which could be the problem because (assuming) the container div does not have position: relative; to keep the nav div position within it. Also noticed float: center; .... no such animal.
  11. While your css file may be named as root.css but the html code shows uppercase. Open your html file and look for this: <link href="ROOT.CSS" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> Change the ROOT.CSS to be all lowercase because your server does not seem to support uppercase.
  12. There are many merchant banks that provides services using various gateways. You might want to check with your own bank to see if they offer such services. More than likely they do and so you can talk with your bank representive to better explain all the fees that you are so concerned about.
  13. Hmm..I wonder if FX4 can be installed as a stand-alone leaving FX3 intact? Update: Looks like Google shows a good list on how to run both versions.
  14. Captcha should be readable regardless how pretty it may be. The goal of the captcha is to eliminate spammers.
  15. I didn't know Facebook even did that. Is it used from a user's/developer's perspective or is it something that Facebook uses to extract some kind of payment for things like advertising? If the former then I would be a bit iffy about it because their niche is social media and not a payment gateway service.
  16. If you did that then the upper portion of the character would probably be cut off because of the fact that the footer is fixed at the bottom of the browser. It may look fine for those that have higher resolution but since 1024 resolution still dominates (or similar settings for widescreen) it would definately chop it off at the top. However, if you want to try this (it still will not solve the problem I mentioned above) you can move your character image to withing the containing div of the footer and then apply position to place that character exactly where you want it. Also keep in mine that the sticky (fixed) footer position does not behave the same way as IE. You might check your work in all major browsers, Firefox, IE8, IE7, Safari and Chrome.
  17. Did you create the ftp login/password or did someone give it to you?. If the latter you might have them check it to see if they get the same problem. More than likely the login info you have is not allowing the access you're are requiring.
  18. Might pay attention to menu's current state.
  19. You can simply use all of them in your content by doing something like this: Vacationing at Lake Lure is a fisherman's dream providing secluded cabins situated on the lake. Lake Lure cabin rentals comes equipped with all the accommodations that includes..blah...blah...blah... and beautiful sceneries that will surely take your breath away. Our cabin rentals at Lake Lure can house 2, 4, 6 and 8 people with..blah...blah..blah. Same holds true if for other possible use such as: Lake Lure catfish; catfish at Lake Lure; fishing at Lake Lure; Lake Lure camping; and so on. As for meta tag, I don't use them much but you can add phrases in your meta keyword tag and sentences within the meta description tag. However, there are limits as to how many characters that a spider will read. If my memory serves me correctly I believe there is a 160 character limit for descriptions and 70 for title. I don't think Google even mess with meta keyword tag but some search engine might use them and I do not believe there is any limite to how many words you can have. On that note, the overuse of keywords my hurt you thus keep you from being indexed. Just make sure that anything words, title and description that you use are relavant to that page.
  20. I've used uniform in the past. I was hoping for something that doesn't require such code replacements. Thanks.
  21. Does anyone have a source or recall how to make an alternate dropdown list that will work within the <form> tag and that it behave as such? Right now I have a right column that is about 300px wide and the default dropdown list (using <select>) is pushing it out too wide because one of the <option> has a very long value. Of course I can set the <select> to be smaller than the containing right column's width but then it chops off the <option> long value in IE. Naturally, it's fine for Firefox and Chrome. I have tried a few scripts in which one worked for IE8 but fails miserably in IE7. The script seems to be outdated. I thought that using a definition list or unordered list would work but I wanted to know if jquery is requiry to make it work with the <form> tag plus the dropdown has to behave just the same visually and passes the values as though it was coded using the <select> and <option> tags. This will be integrated into asp and right now I'm just not ready to rewrite the code unless I can find a solution that will make the major coding changes beneficial. Seriously, I googled it but maybe I am not using the right term. Thanks.
  22. In order to make your text white you will need to edit the style.css file and find any and all intances of color:#??? and change them to be #fff. Keep in mind that the text color are set as black by default thus does not require a css style. But in a nutshell, that is how you change the color of the text is by editing the style.css file either through the wordpress admin or ftp.
  23. Yes. Just make the body background have a blue bar that matches the height of the banner. However, since he's using the body already, he could move the body's background image to the html and then apply the new blue bar to the body.
  24. Oh..I see. The width of 100% would be whatever the browser size is regardless if there is a scroll or not. Think about it, if the wrapper div uses a 100% width then it would fit the width of the browser window thus no scroll. So the banner is displaying the full width of browser window as it should but it doesn't understand how to expand beyond that of a fixed width that is greater than the browser window size.
  25. Without looking at the site again, I vaguely remember that the header (banner) was outside of the wrapper. That banner is set using the css background which is centered.
