When I click on the contact link at the bottom of the page I am getting a 404 page not found error, it is trying to go to the follwoing page: http://www.ethsdrama.com/public/contact.php

@joecool - thanks for catching that. I got the issue fixed.
-
It works and looks beautiful now...

Probably the best site I've worked on has finally launched! http://kirshner.org/

Ahh okay then, thats very nice of you! Must of taken ages, there are a lot of slideshows etc in there, and it looks to perfection!
-
Thankfully a lot of the dynamic elements in the site are handled by the CMS or are set up by templates, so once I got one set up, the rest were relatively easy to do. But yes... this site was in the works on and off for quite a while.
-
Wonderful job. Site is beautiful.

Congrats Ben!

Congrats!

Congratulations!

Started working on my first CMS Made Simple site in a long time. I'm reminded why I like the CMS so much... Easy for developers and clients to work with.

Unfortunately not. KillerSites doesn't offer any at the moment.
http://www.icms.info/ seems decent (article based, rather than video based though), but other than that, you'd need to do some searching.
-
(If you bug Stefan about it, maybe he'll ask me to do a couple videos on it?)
-
Hehe cool...!
i'll gine it a try

Just installed an 240GB SSD in my Mac. Getting significantly snappier performance on startup/whenever an application launches. My Xbench score doubled after putting in the SSD.

Everything seems good so far... we'lll see in a couple months. The once concern I had involved degradation in performance over time, but according to (independent) tests I looked at line, this particular SSD has reduced problems with that. We'll see...
-
The other drawback is that the SSD comes at a hefty price compared to HDD.
-
Well, yeah. They have dropped significantly in price though (though they are still relatively expensive) and should become more affordable at time passes and technology improves.

First day at my summer internship. Looks like one of my summer projects will be to build out an ecommerce shop for http://www.wildinkpress.com/

The main site is built in Light CMS, and Light is coming out with ecommerce features early next month, so I'm holding off an making any decisions until I see what they offer.
-
Choosing an ecommerce cms is hard. I'm still in search. When you done with this make a post. Thanks!!
-
Will do.

Just emailed my resignation letter to the company I currently work for giving them a few weeks to find someone new. Full time freelancing, here I come! (starting Aug 26th)

Thanks! I'm hoping it will give me more flexibility, and free up some time to work on more interesting/fun projects.
-
Ben I have no doubt that you will be successful. You are a wealth of knowledge.
-
Good luck, I will keep you in mind, the group I work with sometimes needs programming work

Recently completed a quick personal web app for keeping track of personal daily tasks. It's not super complicated, but it's exciting to be able to use my web skills to make my own life easier.

Well, here's a quick screenshot: http://falkendev.com/downloads/calendar.gif
Basically, it allows me to keep track of simple tasks that I need to do on a daily basis. If I complete all the tasks in a day, the background of the table cell for that day turns green.
I've set it up as the default page that appears when I open a browser/open a new tab, so I should see it often. I'm hoping that it will help me establish good habits and remember to do the small thin...
-
I like it!!! Great job. Also like your latest design you posted on twitter. You always do a great job!!
-
Thanks!

More KillerSites screencasts in the works... this time something OOP related.
-
I may be around the forums a little less... I've just been super busy recently, and I have to try and prioritize my time at the moment.
-
I feel ya! Hope all is well!
-
Yeah, I'm fine, just super busy with work/school/family stuff. Things should slow down in 3 or 4 weeks when I'm finished with another semester of college, but till then I have to be a bit more careful with my time.
Glad to see you're back again! Hope things are going well for you. =)
-
So just in time for the holiday rush... lol! Lucky you! I am "around" and pop in to see how things are going but y'all are so on top of things I am rarely needed. Though I did find one that was right up my alley so I was able to help. *grin*

Finished college, and diving into full time freelancing. Super busy!

Just launched: http://lyndsaymarie.com/

Oddly enough, I learned I am allergic to tigers today...
-
And how often do you get to hang out with tigers...LOL
-
Every so often. =) My girlfriend works at an exotic animal facility (http://kirshner.org/ - I'm in the process of redesigning it) so I get an opportunity to feed/care for tigers/lions/exotic animals on occasion. This time, I got to take pictures with a couple week old baby tiger.

Working on some new KillerSites screencasts...

Working on a portfolio redesign... It's finally getting tot he point where I'm happy with it.

New 10 part video series called "Simple PHP Login System with OOP & MVC" up in the KS Video Library. More details: http://www.killersites.com/community/index.php?/blog/5/entry-20-new-php-oop-videos/
-
Officially over 4000 posts! ...also, new videos in the KS Video Library on basic .htaccess and mod_rewrite. I'll put up a blog post tomorrow.
-
http://how-to-build-websites.com/ is now running on Wordpress!
-
Looks like I'll be interning at a letterpress print studio this summer... Should be a bit of a contrast to all of the web work I do.
-
This is a personal question, but I am a curious kind of guy - what is it you want to do eventually?
-
I'm not completely sure yet. =) I know it's something design oriented, but whether that it ultimately something print or web based I'm not sure yet. Just depends on what opportunities I am given -- so far, most things that have come my way have been web oriented.
-
-
Less than 300 posts away from being the 2nd highest poster on the forum.
-
Decided to drop my part time web coding job and go freelance full time starting in early September. Excited for some new opportunites (and perhaps the chance to do more KillerSites related screencasts and such.)
-
So I'm considering picking up a SSD (240ish GB). Anyone willing to donate to the "Get Ben an SSD fund"? It's expensive. =P
-
So I decided to buy that SSD that I have been wanting as an early Christmas present to myself... I should get it later this week. I'm hoping to see significantly snappier performance -- probably getting a boot time of 15-20 seconds rather than the usual minute or so.
-
Besides, OWC was having a Black Friday sale and I saved roughly $100 - http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/specials/
