  3. Hi, First, have you tested you local install of PHP to make sure it worked with something simple? Stefan
  4. Yep, PHP is case sensitive. Now that you figured it out yourself, you will not make that mistake again easily! Good work. Stefan
  5. YES! Just make it clear to them that you are tracking time ... and then track it. Arrange a billing schedule with them (in advance) so that everyone knows what to expect. Whatever you do, don't let them think your time is not worth much by jumping every time they ask for something ... learn to respect your own time, otherwise they will quickly come to not respects yours. ... It is human nature. Stefan
  6. The error message is hinting at what you need to do; PHP can't find the file: 'No such file or directory ...' So take a look at where PHP thinks the file should be, and put the file PHP is looking for there. Does that make sense? Stefan
  7. Hi, Every now and then, I post a blog entry based on emails that I get. This time, someone asked a bunch of questions about SEO and gaining organic position on the search engines. I figured I mention here to get some feedback (about SEO) from you guys. Stefan

  16. I think that in a big way, the future of web design will be in blogs and CMS as the baseline. ... Static sites just won't cut it anymore. Stefan
  17. That makes sense. What you will find, is that if you challenge yourself to learn more complex things in web design, you will become better with everything in general. So, if you learn: - wordpress theme building - basic php - basic javascript ... Your overall ability to create great websites will jump. That realization (that having exposure to all these subjects helped) was one of the motivations for the Killersites University ... I wanted a one-stop-shop for people to develop all these skills. There will be much more about this in the near future.
  18. Maybe so. I decided on the Zend Framework instead. Stefan
  19. I was strongly considering codigniter too, I just couldn't get past their use of looping code in the views. In fact, this sparked a minor debate on the issue.
  20. Websites are always a work in progress ... that's just one reason the web design business is a good one to be in! Stefan
  21. Hi, As some of you may know, I am a big advocate of web designers using Wordpress (or any other blog or CMS) as the basis for just about any web design project - it just saves a lot of time and provides all kinds of functionality: - built in search. - allows users to easily add pages and edit pages. - search engine friendly out of the box. - makes it really easy to update the entire site. Etc ... I was just wondering how many of you were using Wordpress (or any CMS) or planning on using it in the near future? Thanks, Stefan
  22. Welcome to both of you! And just for the record, if you think we have a "Vast World Of Information" now ... wait to you see what's coming. Stefan
  23. Sounds to me that you outputted the button images at a resolution higher than 72 pixels the inch. Remember that screen graphics should never be outputted at high pixel depth. ... Does that make sense? Stefan
