  1. Hi, What you need to use are IE conditional comments. Fortunately, I created a video on this a while back. Stef
  2. Don't be afraid to comment on this skin as it is not going anywhere ... we will have multiple options that you can select. Stefan
  3. I'm curious to see what people want to learn. Stefan
  4. Hi, Recently a friend of mine (Napo) wrote up a quick tutorial on using Adobe Illustrator to mock up a web page. To be honest, I was a little surprised at that because from my experience, everyone used Photoshop. .. Napo though, prefers Illustrator! Anyway, I was just wondering how many of you use Illustrator in your web design work - whether it be a complete page layout or simply creating graphics for your web pages? Stefan
  5. Ah ... now I understand, you bought the PHP shopping cart with paypal video course. I would create a new class or function (called say: discount-calculator()) that checks to see if the proper discount code was entered, if so, then the function/class would reduce the total purchase amount by 10% ... simple math. .. This would be done in the controller. Does that make sense? Stefan
  6. Hi, Is this using the Paypal built-in cart or is this a custom cart interfacing with Paypal? Stefan
  7. The new skin will be up tonight ... latest tomorrow morning. .. Hopefully you will like that one and it will work for you. Stefan
  8. I fixed the typo for you! Ok ... just for the sake of testing, I am now adding this line of text with Firefox 3.5.8 on Windows XP.
  9. Hi, I caught this article that I thought some of you might find interesting - "Opera, Safari Beat Chrome On Google’s Own JavaScript Conformance Test" From techcrunch: You can read the rest here: http://techcrunch.com/2010/03/19/javascript-conformance-test/ Stefan
  10. ... It could matter - Vista is the worst OS to come out in years. This is a hard one to debug because as you said, other FireFox users are not experiencing the same problems - myself including. Could it be a security setting that is doing it? Have you tried on another browser, say IE8 or Safari for PC? Not that I am suggesting that you switch. - The other good news is that we should have the new skin in place this evening (latest tomorrow) and hopefully that will work for you guys. Stefan
  11. Hi, I just set it up so members can put up web templates so others can see and download them. So, to what advantage? Well, just in a few days, a new member who put up a few templates has had their profile seen 15 times ... and this member has only 2 posts! This in time, will probably translate into web design jobs and contracts for active members. This is nothing new, I've had several members tell me that they've gotten work through the forum. I'm guessing that once all the new features are in place and I put the Community fully online ... this sort of thing will become more common. Anyway, it seems templates gets you noticed. Stefan
  12. Of course find+replace can make it easy for you change your absolute paths should you ever need to. Stefan
  13. Hi, I will only know within a day or two, but there is a chance that we may be able to move the 60 000+ posts from the original killersites forum here! .. This has been a thorn in my side since we shut it down over a year ago. Let's cross our fingers! Stefan
  14. Hi, We've taken the next step in the conversion process today, where now the search engines are being directed to our new community from the old forum. If you look at the bottom of the page, you can see Google, Yahoo, MSN/Bing are hitting us now. Stefan
  15. Can you guys post a screenshot? Thanks, Stefan
  16. Has anyone else experienced this editing problem that LSW is experiencing? ... I am just trying to isolate the cause. Thanks, Stefan
  17. Hmm, ... I am able to edit on FF mac. Have you tried another browser ... just to see how it responds? Thanks for taking the time! Stefan
  18. To answer your questions: Yes if you know what your doing. Same as #1 We just did this with one of one our niche web sites (www.csstutorial.net) where we used Wordpress as the engine for the entire site. With some configuration and the help of a plugin or two, we were able to preserver the original static pages (to keep the URL's in place) while making the site MUCH easier to add content to and update. I would suggest watching a few of my free video tutorials on skinning Wordpress to give you an idea. Though Wordpress is very different from say Joomla and Drupal in many ways, the basic concepts are very much the same, so learning a little about Wordpress will help you if you decided to go with another software solution. Stefan
  19. Hi, Since the latest upgrades to this skin, are there any new or any persistent problems anyone would like to report? Thanks, Stefan
  20. Glad to hear that you like it. There are still changes to come ...
  21. I would suggest using jquery as it has a bunch of UI widgets and functionality that will make doing this stuff much easier. Stefan
  22. Yes, Joomla is very popular. I've seen several books on it - so it seems the publishers seem to think so. Stefan
  23. administrator

    CSS font-size

This sounds like a simple typo ... IE6 supports font sizes. Stefan
  24. You might want to take a look at Drupal.org. ... I believe Joomla was based on Drupal at one time. Stefan
