The login page works fine but I don't know why I'm getting these two Notices with undefined indexes, please can you help.  I have sent screen shots.

It seems that paypal's sandbox has totally changed since the video was created. That time, Ben could just create a testing accounts for buyer and seller right away, while at this time it seems I have to create a sandbox testing app with a bunch of options before getting to the points I am interested in for the sake of the php course.

Is there an update of some kind?

Can someone explain how does these 2 functions work:

1. class_exists()
2. spl_autoload_register()

    

Class exist function

// the output of file is "It does exists"

So how does this function works? Scans whole file? Whole directory? I mean its called before I defined class.

Spl autoload register function

include 'functions.php'; // <- file where is the function class_exist('User') and spl_autoload_register()

include 'user.php'; // <- Here is the class (User) 

So how does this function work? Its before any of those files that are included, and still it does it work? Does it scans whole directory where it is or what? I am really confused.

Is it okay to use the PHP validation code from the course "Form Validation with PHP & JavaScript", specifically the contact.php page to validate and send an email in production code, for a client website?

Anything else I need to add to make sure the client doesn't get hacked or spoofing emails? Do I need something else like:

filter_var($_POST['email'], FILTER_SANITIZE_EMAIL);

and 

filter_var($_POST['name'], FILTER_SANITIZE_STRING);

Are these necessary or is the code from the course safe enough? I guess I am just looking for best practices for form validation with security in mind. Thanks in advance for any help!

I thought I'd post questions as they come up, for a starter here's this:

"Another convention is that getter and setter names should match the property names"

Is this really just a convention or the class would not work at all otherwise? In other words do I need "var $name;" in order to set (and get) the value of "$this->name"?

This if statement will only do its code block if submit button is clicked or in nerds language if $_POST['submit'] is set.
So thats means that value of that submit button is NULL before clicking, but when we click that submit button we are giving it a value?

For example

<input type="submit" name="submit" value="someAwesomeValue">

if I click this button its value will be 'someAwesomeValue' which means I set $_POST['submit'] value to 'someAwesomeValue'

or in other words $_POST['submit'] = 'someAwesomeValue'

i have pay pal rest api installed in a web app project folder, which is in htdocs of xampp on Slackware14 box. 

i ran one of the PayPal REST API Samples from

http://localhost/gbf/vendor/paypal/rest-api-sdk-php/sample/index.htmlgot a few errors and fixed all but one using cli at:  /opt/lampp/htdocs/gbf/vendor/paypal/rest-api-sdk-php

using : #chmod 777  sample  -R

The only eror left is:giving output of  Exception: error:14094410:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert handshake failure NULL

Any Linux users out there that know how to fix this?

I am planning to use this cart to place meal orders for a fitness and food service. As part of the service, a customer inputs their Procarb# in order to determine the serving size of their meal based on their lean body mass. So the array of numbers in the cart row that determines the total would be unit price x Procarb# x Quantity: I know that this is doable but I am having a hard time making this edit work as I am new to such dynamic designs.

Can anyone help me determine where and how this edit should be made?

I have been going through your php training video and i have done all up to php_advanced_pt2 which includes :

kp3-setting-up-htaccess-for-controllers.mov

kp4-dispatching-requests-to-multiple-controllers.mov

kp5-dispatching-views.mov

The first video seems fine but somewhere in kp4 and kp5 it all goes wrong and it doesn't work how it should.

I have been over and over it and can't find the problem. I have even installed your own files found in "php_advanced_sourcefiles / kp5-dispatching-views " and i am getting exactly the same errors.

I am using mamp pro and i have tried the script on php 5.2.17, php5.3.14 and php 5.4.4 which i am currently using.

My files are located in:

/Users/rickyspires/Sites/TRAINING/PHP_OOP/MVC/public

these are the errors i am getting:

If i remove $pfx from list($pfx, $controllerName,$actionName) = preg_split('/[\/\\\]/',$uri); in index.php

it fixes the first problem because $pfx is not defined any where but it is probably not the correct thing to do.

and

from ControllerAbstract.php it fixes the second error but is probably not the correct thing to do.

when i remove that code and go to my local site (http://training-mvc.com'>http://training-mvc.com) the site is blank

I have a problem with the CMS from the CMS course.

It does not allow me to save Ampersands at all, even everything that gets placed behind it is excluded after I press submit.

How and in which file do I fix this?

I finished the CMS course and I'm trying to replace TinyMCE with it's latest version (4.0.2), but it doesn't seem to work (it doesn't load TinyMCE at all).

This is what I did:

- I replaced the "tiny_mce" folder with the new folder (tinymce) and updated all path names related to this file.

- In "v_edit.php" I replaced the TinyMCE script with the new version and linked the necessary CSS styles as explained in the course.

- In "t_head.php" I updated the link to the TinyMCE plugin.

When I click on a WYSIWYG block it loads a content block with text but no TinyMCE elements.

Is there anything I need to be aware of since this is a new version? I have the feeling I'm missing an important step!?

Im following the CMS course and there is an error that I can't quite solve, When i'm logged in on the CMS and try to edit one editable region, it processes the edit of that region to all editable regions. For Example: I have three regions that are editable by the CMS, I click on region 1 and type in the text "test", all three regions display the word "test".

Can somebody give me pointers where to look or how to solve this problem?

and than..... I lost you in video 5 when you wrote:

$stefan = new person();

I am confused about $stefan because you also made the var $name = "Stefan";

I mean... if you would do:

$nicole = new person();

(in THAT example)

it would still echo Stefan as a result in your example (build objects in PHP part 2 of 3).

So why do you give the variable in the index file the name $stefan and not $foo or $too or $whatever ? You use a real persons name for a variable and I think that would never happen in a real script.

I did notice, after downloading the Source Files, you changed

var $name = "Stefan"; (see video at 06:03)

to

var $name;

Hope you get my confusion.

I have a problem,

I can't seem to save more than 46 words in the database. If i enter more than that it automaticly deletes the al the words until 46 words.

I have an application I'm writing, & would like to give the option for customization down the road, but also have it upgradable to version 2.0.. 3.0.. 4.0 in the future without having to edit the main files at the time of upgrade to keep customizations. I have created on one, I have a Cms class, & have made a "customCms extends Cms Class" file, but don't necessarily want to write a blank file for every class so that down the road I can possibly customize it (mainly because when I deploy the new version I don't want to chance overwriting the end programers customizations if I don'[t delete the custom file before packaging). I have this code, but it doesn't do that, it will error if the file is not found. The autoloader works, but the "$Cms = new Cms" doesn't, it errors. Is there a way to load a class only if it exists?

i get all my recipients in every input type, but when i tried to post it in my database not all of them are posted rather only one of them are posted in my database ...what i want to happen is that all of my recipients in every input type will be posted in my database with different ids'...help pls...
