{"id":19,"date":"2005-02-04T10:47:24","date_gmt":"2005-02-04T15:47:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.killersites.com\/blog\/?p=19"},"modified":"2017-02-23T10:05:27","modified_gmt":"2017-02-23T15:05:27","slug":"book-review-podcast-solutions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.killersites.com\/blog\/2005\/book-review-podcast-solutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Review:  Podcast Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is a good book for &#8216;non-nerds&#8217; on everything about podcasting &#8211; the delivery of mp3&#8217;s via RSS feeds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What I mean by &#8216;non-nerds&#8217;: <\/strong>the authors assume you are just someone who wants to learn how to podcast; there is no assumption that you are a web designer.<\/p>\n<p>Though it is not nerd-centric, it is a great book for anyone (including web designers,) who wants to jump into this new way of delivering (audio) content to the web. It is a technical guide covering both the hardware (mics, cables et cetera,) and software components needed to start podcasting. <\/p>\n<p>It is also a good guide on the business (for lack of better words,) end of podcasting covering things like:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How to speak properly when creating podcasts.<\/li>\n<li>How to market\/promote your podcast &#8211; (there are podcast specific methods to learn.)<\/li>\n<li>How to make money with podcasting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe src=\"http:\/\/rcm.amazon.com\/e\/cm?t=wwwmontrealma-20&#038;o=1&#038;p=8&#038;l=as1&#038;asins=1590595548&#038;fc1=000000&#038;=1&#038;lc1=0000ff&#038;bc1=000000&#038;lt1=_blank&#038;IS2=1&#038;bg1=ffffff&#038;f=ifr\" style=\"width:120px;height:240px;\" scrolling=\"no\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The pros:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The book covers everything you need to effectively start podcasting. I was pleasently suprised how the book covered practical aspects outside of the normal realms of geekness &#8211; people who write web design books could learn a thing or two from this title. <\/p>\n<p>Included is a  CD with all the software you need to get started &#8230; convenient.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The cons:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I felt some of the writing was a touch long winded &#8211; get to the point already!
