Hi Guys im new to php ive got a small grasp and viewed Stefans video's (which have helped alot) i have an existing website which was built for me 3 years ago in php that i really now need to update and cant seem to get anyone to do it for me, i need several new features to work on the site and more importantly need to learn things such as how to generate more pages without actually making them im guessing through using some php scripting the server side will show a visitor a page which possibly does not exist and the template is just showing a different content within the same pages that are on the site already? the site would need to have 1000's of pages which i couldnt possibly build myself in one lifetime! basically my site involves finding car parts and i need 'a page' for each make model an possible car part that could be requested is this a possibility in PHP? Any help would be appreciated. :) |

You might be more comfortable using a pre built cms - content managment system. Do a search here for CMS. Some of my favorites are cmsmadesimple.org and joomla.org. ---------------------------------------- "The art of life lies in a constant readjustment to our surroundings." -Okakura Kakuzo Save the developers<!> Maine Webworks |

I would say go for a already existing CMS. Believe me the last thing you want to do is spend 2+ months developing a new system, so yes go with one of the free ones out there on the net, drupal, joomla, ez publish etc, etc. |
