Hi, Webshapes.org is moving along (we have a few hundred nice templates,) and was wondering if any of you had any suggestions in terms of:
I appreciate any feedback positive or negative that you may have. Thanks! Stefan ---------------------------------------- Stefan Mischook Video Tutorial Store | Web Templates |

I don't know how feasible this would be, but how about a section for CSS forms? |

I must say it is an excellent resource and i didn't notice any flaws at all. All categories are covered, good navigation throughout. ---------------------------------------- My blog |

I didn't realize you had a template collection here when I was recently shopping for one or I would have paid it much more attention. I will certainly keep webshapes in mind for the next site. One thing that bugs me is that I can only see the thumbnail of 6 templates at a time. I realize you can't put TOO many up without getting things too small to be useful, but I would prefer to look over at least a dozen (or even better, 36) at a time to quickly find something that catches my eye. Looks like you've built up quite a collection so far. |

Hi, To be clear, the templates found on webshapes.org are open source templates that we thought were among the best on the Web - for the most part. Remember that thought you are free to use the templates in your own work, you typically have to keep a reference (link) to the template authors site - an acknowledgment to them. Besides using them for your own/client work, you can also consider using them as a learning tool - check out how they did their work. Thanks for the feedback. and was wondering if any of you had any suggestions in terms of: 1. I would like a "nice" message to some of the authors that before they code their templates, maybe they could use HTML 4.0 Strict. I've use one template that was XHTML and I had to clean it up. Didn't take long, but I think in best practices HTML 4.0 is a better starting point. Also it helps newbies off in the right path, so we don't have to go into a XHTML vs. HTML debate. 2. This is just a thought, but I don't know how much work it would take: But authors who put a little more work into there projects could be displayed first? For example, an author who as implemented some accessibility features, made sure their template worked across multiple browsers, etc would be better than Joe Smith sayings "Hey this puppy validates and works in IE & FF...Have Fun" But then again I can't see how you could judge that..... it would be the if then else statement from hell. So #2 is just a thought and even if it couldn't go that route at least encourage more accessibility in the templates. But I would like to see number 1. |

Is there a way to download all the templates so that they can be viewed locally. It just takes too long to do it online which is a shame because you have some nice designs here. Thanks, Patrick |

As I browse through the templates, one by one, it's nice to be able to hit the link to "next template", however I often find that I want to go back to the last one viewed. Could you add a link to "last template"? Wonderful site by the way, Thanx |
