user login

I was wanting to create a forum that was open to anyone and blog that would be accessible through a payment option. My question is, how would I go about setting that up so that those who wanted to join the blog would first have to pay and then they would be allowed to create a user name and password to then post comments on the blog?

How would I set up a registration form and a payment option using php and say wordpress?

Re: user login

First off I question with so many Blogs out there who would pay to read one. I can not think of a single blog my 27 blogs I track that I would pay for and some of them are the top web developers in the world.

The Blog is easy, just install it, and set it members only and hide the registration sections aka delete them from the code if needed.

Just a link that they want to join. They pay however the you wish them to and you are notified. You create the member, or send them a link to do it themselves and fill out their profile.

As for the forum. You install the forum and create a link on the blog that leads to it.

done.

Re: user login

what would the php look like to create a login that would call for a username and password that would be stored in a database. I would also need a way for users to receive fogotten passwords.

Re: user login

Those are built into every CMS, Blog and forum software. just choose what you want, download it, upload it to the server and follow the install directions.

You may even have it available for you in your back end, Cpanel does usually.
