confused I want a pre-made website

Hello,
Is it possible to find somewhere that sells a pre-made website? I just want like 5 pages for Home, About Us, etc. No shopping cart or real advanced stuff. I've seen those pretty-looking templates you can buy from TemplateMonster and they would be perfect except it seems like you have to be a web designer to implement them. You still have to know how to install and edit it, plus figure out hosting and whatever else. I'm not really interested in learning all that web design myself because I have a store to run (selling game room equipment and supplies). Furthermore, I don't want one of those build-it-yourself tools like I've heard about on FreeWebs and others because I think their template choices are way too plain and generic, on the verge of unprofessional.

On the other extreme, I can't afford to pay a fancy web design agency thousands of dollars to build an over-the-top site for me either. I just want something in the middle, something that looks custom but isn't. Like, can't someone setup one of those pretty Monster templates and domain name and hosting and all that stuff for me, then let me add my own text with an admin tool or editor thingy (I think it is called a CMS but not sure)? I guess a web design agency could do that, I haven't asked. But, I doubt they would want to when they make their money on the custom design work and then the ongoing maintenance work. Plus, their rates are way too high when all I need is someone to just setup a website, make it run, and then turn it loose. I think I could take over and run it from there. All I would need to do is edit my web page text whenever I want. I don't see a need for keeping the web design agency on the payroll for ongoing maintenance either.

I hope there is another option out there that I have missed. I just want to get a fairly good-looking website up fast and cheap. I've heard you can get a pre-built website on ebay but I think those are if you are looking to get a new business with a website and don't already have your own business that needs a blank website. Yeah, I just need a pre-built, blank website installed that comes with all the domain name and hosting technical stuff taken care of. If they had one like that on ebay I might snatch it up.

Help please? Any ideas out there? I suppose I would take quotes from web design agencies to do this type of thing. But, if anyone knows of a place where I can buy a fully running website with a nice design and is empty and allows for me to add my content, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You are right -- a lot of the "do it yourself" tools do tend to generate unprofessional results. You're best bet is probably to find someone who would be willing to integrate a Content Management System into a stock website template of your choosing. You can find both low cost templates and free templates (http://www.oswd.org/, for example) online.

In that case, most of the work is already done for the developer, so it really shouldn't be too expensive. Not all agencies are expensive -- it will depend who you go with. You probably would get a better quote from an individual web designer or student (though make sure they have enough experience to follow through on what they say they can do!) rather than going with an agency. I am sure there may be some people on this site who might even be able to help you out.

EDIT: I Didn't see NightHawk's post above (which I am tempted to say is spam)... Yes, there are people who offer "free" websites... they are usually called templates. In most cases, they simply help you get started, but don't actually contain all of the pages your site needs.

Plus, most of premade websites are lack of SEO so what is the point of having a website when it is not listed or rank properly in search engines

yes I agreee completely here. You can spend less than $1500 or DIY to get your xnumber of main pages of information up. But if it is not ranked and has no presence you won't get click thru.

So the real investment would be the SEO and changing up the front page periodically to get the search engines to recognize it.

Web Site fun-ho-hum
