I'm going to create my first flash video for a web site. I looked at Adobe Flash Learning Guide and in a chart it recommends streaming if the video is longer than 30 seconds. But on another of their pages is this statement about progressive download, "At runtime, video files are loaded from the local disk into the SWF file, with no limitation on file size or duration. There are no audio synchronization issues or memory restrictions." I want to use progressive download. Are there likely to be problems if I make it about six minutes long? |

6 minutes? Way to long, no one will wait that long. It is clearly to big... especially if it is 6 min. on broadband. ---------------------------------------- Gu.aal kwsh yak'i itakw ijeet wugoodk LSW-WebDesign.com |

LSW, Thank you for your response, but I'm not sure what you mean. I'm talking about a flash video with a duration of six minutes, not a waiting time of six minutes for the video to begin. Won't it begin quickly because it is progressive download? Or, because it is a six minute video, will it take a long time to begin, even with progressive download. And are there likely to be other problems because it is a long video with progressive download? |

6 minutes is not too long. I use progressive streaming with 10 minutes duration without a problem. I have seen 15 minutes in other sites without a problem. What you should do is promt your users download flash player 10 and i think you will not have a problem. |
