Hey guys, it's been a while since I last visited this forum. The last time I asked for a peer review here, I've only just started web designing. The result was, well, this: http://www.killersites.com/mvnforum/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=8062 Since then, and for the majority of the past year, I have been maintaining a game server for my clan. A few weeks ago the server went down so now I have time to design again. Anyways, seeing as I've gotten mostly negative comments about my first design, I just want to see where I stand now. My new blog is at: http://6.dot.ch My old domain (tgvserver.info) also redirects to this address now Any suggestion or criticism is welcomed. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by leegao at Sep 23, 2008 3:18:23 AM] |

You don't validate, and I find the banner section way too big. On my monitor (1024 px height), it covers over 2/3 of the entire viewing area. Also, your use of the blockquote tag is not exactly according to its actual purpose. -- I think. I guess one could call blog entries quotes, but I'd find that a bit of a stretch. ---------------------------------------- ... |

I can't do much about the validation since all but 5 of them are generated by wordpress itself. The blockquoted entry wasn't a post at all and seeing as it is an actual quote I'm pretty sure it's semantically correct to use it that way. On a sidenote, semantics is a subjective word which gives us the liberty of discerning its usage, there's no absolute rule on how to use it and as long as my usage satisfies being a categorical imperative, I'm justified in using the element in such a way. |
