Hi, Just wanted to let you know that the tutorial is now online. I think that I will probably restrict it to newsletter subscribers (to keep the traffic down) but for now it is open to all. Dreamweaver Video tutorial Tell me what you think. Well I did not sit through the whole thing, but looks good from what I saw of it.... My only concern would be the speed. I found myself rushing through the text to be sure I make it before it switches... and not really comprehending it but having time to spare....but not enough to re-read it. Folks with dislexia and other such problems will have a problem with this. You might want to mention it to him if he does another version that he build in the ability to pause the movie.... or a button to tell it simply to go to the next part so the user can read as slowly as they must, and have time to follow the steps in Dreamweaver. I know my way around CSS somewhat now and it was a bit fast for my taste.... so what would a basolute newbie think...... But the few minutes I watched looked good and I would pass the link along...... if I knew it would stay free, or at least how long before you make it for newsletter recievers. |

Stef, Thanks for including the tutorial. I watched part of it but I'm afraid I don't learn too well from this type of medium. Like Kyle said, if there were a way to pause it or manually go from one screen to the next, it would be more beneficial. I also need to be able to try things as I see them or I don't retain it. I'm a little dense that way. Ted ---------------------------------------- www.aero-dynamic-web.com |

Hi, There is a control panel at the bottom of the video that allows you to pause it etc ... I am actually looking at using voice instead of text for the next tutorials. But of course I will tick off the deaf and those who feel for the deaf! You can't please everyone: "... Folks with dislexia and other such problems will have a problem with this" The newsletter is free, but I might do the same for the movies as I did for the stock photography - it's just if you have tens of thousands downloading a 1.5 meg video it takes a lot of bandwidth ... ---------------------------------------- Stefan Mischook Video Tutorial Store | Web Templates ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by admin at Feb 23, 2004 10:46:28 AM] |

Really? I missed the control panel then, will go back and have a look. A online friend of mine has Dislexia and when I preach barreir free design, then he jumps in and supports me with his stories on how different things are hard for him..... such videos were one of them. Asfor the news letter, I have no problem with that, just would be interested if it is a sure thing in a few months or if itwould be more a matter of "when it gets so many Hits per month". If we can pause the film.... then it has a thumbs up from me. Well done. |

Stef, If you want to look at doing better qualiuty video with voice over I would recommend downloading the 30 day trial of Camtasia Studio from www.techsmith.com This allows you to record the screen (all or a portion) and record voice narration during the recording or afterwards and then edit things together. If you would like to take a look at some video tutorials created with Camtasia then take a look at my site where there is video content on Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Corel Draw & Director for free download. http://www.wz2k.co.uk/pages/downloads.php Cheers Paul C |

Boy it is hard to critisize good intentions. However I am the third that did not sit through it and agree with LSW and Aero. I did find the pause button but my suggestion would be to let the user set their own pace as you can see there are several things such as Dyslexia/Smart/stupid/dumb/genius/major nerd that will be a problem however you set the speed. A simple click next and people could go at their own rate. Looks to be a nice job with a couple of tweaks ![]() ---------------------------------------- Don't let the bigdawg bite!!! ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by bigdawgcaps at Mar 30, 2004 4:21:56 PM] |
