Ptah,

"but it sounds a little too much like apple’s webclips for dashboard."

Yea, Microsoft has a history of taking a look at what's out there, and then they try to create their own version of it:

Java -> .NET
Wordperfect - > MS Word
Mac OS - > Windows
Ipod - > Zune

... In my young and brash days, I would say 'copy'. But thankfully, those enthusiastic days have long since gone.

;)

That said, we still have to remember that 80% of the world still uses Windows and so we have to look at what is put in front of them. That means IE8 WebSlices should be considered.

Disclaimer:

I use both Mac and PC. I have to be honest though, OSX is the best OS I've ever used.

... And I've been pretty much a Windows guy up until about 2 years ago. Vista pushed me into the Mac camp.

Thanks for clarifying this feature Stefan, but it sounds a little too much like apple's webclips for dashboard.

I'm trying to prove myself wrong but it pretty much does the same thing outside of creating your own with those css identifier classes.
