Topic: I want I want I want ... but how???

hey folks!

I'm a self taught - FrontPage user ... don't hate me, its not my livelihood -

I really don't know how to get from point a to point b

I have accounts with IPower and GoDaddy - winders and linux

dilemna
do I need or can I afford a database driven website?

- I have built access dbs for logon screens but its just that - a logon - no real data driven content

each user should be able to view their own stuff when they log in
each users forms should re-appear with info, then modify it if needed
each user should be able to print a contract/invoice from a login that is personalized with their info

some of the info would be available in a search form

is this impossible or too overly difficult???

can I post my email for questions?

Yes, it sounds like you do need one from what your telling us.
We can't know if you can afford it... but they are not all that expensive to get databases added to your account.

The concept is the same, but stay away from Access for the web, it is a nightmare. Use MySQL, SQL or Oracle.

Sounds like a basic CMS would work for you... Drupal may be better, but CMS Made Simple is real popular here too for normal web sites. They offer most of the user stuff by default. The one questionable are would be the "print a contract/invoice from a login that is personalized with their info", I can see that in General terms, but how to do it in a CMS... that would depend allot on which one you choose, but there may be plugins for just that sort of thing. Drupal is more business oriented so be sure to check that one out. I list a bunch at CMS (Content Management System) : Accessibility

I think I need to "RTFM" ... but I'm out of time !!!

I did try to use the DRUPAL version on godaddy ... I guess I should stick to the stone age stuff - it seems to work and I don't stress
