Topic: What the hey?!

I just routinely checked my own personal website and found the following codes in my <head> section.

I sure as heck didn't type that in there!

Some kind of GOOGLE thing?

I believe that's a meta tag that you insert into the <head> of your index file to confirm to Google Analytics that you control the website you want to get stats on.

I don't think it inserts that automatically though -- I'm pretty sure you have to copy/paste what Google provides.

Ben's correct, there are 2 options either copy and paste in the meta tag or upload a specific html page to verify your site with Google. This is done through Google's Webmaster Tools or Google Sites.
