Topic: Template Design Tutorials

Hey, I am pretty familiar with HTML and getting better at CSS. I am in the process of trying to see where I can learn to design actual web templates and layouts. I would be so grateful to anyone who can help me in my quest to find out something about it. (It really is a quest for me, maybe I am not looking in the right places or using the right keywords or something but every time I try and put into google "web template tutorials" or something to that effect I end up with a bunch of sites giving free web templates or selling premium ones but I can't find where to actually learn to make one.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the "templates" part of your query is throwing your searching off. I'd suggest starting with these two articles (basically huge lists to design tutorials that will teach you how to design various layouts).

Some of these designs are better than others, but it'll teach you some Photoshop basics.
