			<title type="html"><![CDATA[A question about hosting]]></title>
			<link rel="alternate" href="http://www.killersites.com/forums/topic/2485/a-question-about-hosting/new/posts/"/>
			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[Hello people

This is more a question about hosting than web design:-

If you buy multiple domain names for one company to cover all options - for example [url=http://www.companyname.co.uk]www.companyname.co.uk[/url], [url=http://www.companyname.com]www.companyname.com[/url], [url=http://www.companyname.org]www.companyname.org[/url], etc - do you have to buy multiple hosting for each domain name or can all the domain names run from one hosting package?

Many thanks,

I want to continue on learning and was wondering which hardware is the industry standard for web design, Mac or PC? I know the design tools are available for both platforms. I am in the market on purchasing a new computer. My decision was going to be based on the platform that is commonly used for web design.

I appreciate your thoughts and advice...]]></summary>

			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[I have a flash player in a div that automatically starts playing when the page is loaded. I keep it fixed it the corner so people can quickly find it and turn it off if they want. Here's what I'm looking to do:

1) I would like to give them the option before they navigate away from the page to make the player pop up in a new window so that they may continue listening without interruption. Perhaps I could put the option right above the player.

2) I would also like to make the div collapsible or closable and stay that way as folks navigate through the site for their convenience. That means the player would cease playing as well.

Is this possible? If so, how?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been Googling for hours to no avail. The website if you need it is [url]http://jeremysarber.com[/url]]]></summary>

			<link rel="alternate" href="http://www.killersites.com/forums/topic/2435/to-pop-or-not/new/posts/"/>
			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[We have a News page on our business website and frequently we wish to add small articles that might only run to a couple of paragraphs.

Currently, we put the title(s), followed with a one sentence (or part sentence) introduction to the topic, then [b]'read more ....'[/b] as a link to another page where the full article resides. The problem, as I see it, is that a brief article doesn't a) need a full web page and b) doesn't really look right if the page is largely blank.

I have been thinking that the links to short articles could produce a 'pop-up' window in front of the current page, showing the article. Is this a good idea?

If so, can anyone kindly advise me how to do it please?

Apologies if I am using the wrong terminology for this question.]]></summary>

			<link rel="alternate" href="http://www.killersites.com/forums/topic/2452/new-here-need-some-help/new/posts/"/>
			<summary type="html"><![CDATA[I've made a few sites in my day, but it has been several years so I'm back to square one. My mom has asked me to redo her current website (not the one i'm linking) so I figure now would be a good time to dive back into the game.

I've got a basic understanding of what is going on in html code, css, a little javascript, etc. But this site in particular has me a little confused.

I would like my nav/links to open up how they do on this site: w ww.vividdesigngroup.com/index.html
(again, I have nothing to do with that site, just happens to be styled how I like)

But I have looked through the code over and over, and can't seem to figure out what is pointing the links to open up in the body. Is it hidden somewhere in there? is it in an external javascript sheet? is that even possible? Is it opening into a frame? Haha. I'm sure the answer is right in front of me, and this will be a total "d'oh!" moment, but hey, we all gotta start somewhere! I have pretty much figured out everything I need to do, except this.

Any help is [i]greatly[/i] appreciated!

So how do I make the page to be in the center of the screen no mater what size it is; and to allways be over the entire screen.

Pls if someone knows; as I said I'm totally new at this so if you can explain it with a little more details. TY in advance.
