HTML/CSS/Javascript Menu Screencasts

Leave Comment
Hey all,

I just recently added three new beginners-level videos to the KillerSites Video Library. These videos are available to KS Video Library subscribers, and can be found under the "CSS > CSS Basics" sections of http://killersites.com/university.

-- Horizontal Navigation with CSS Sprites: IE6 Fixes
This is a quick two minute video showing a couple tweaks needed in order to get the navigation bar from the previous two videos working properly in IE6. I'll leave it up to you whether you want to support IE6 or not (it is 9 years old, after all) but it's there if you find it useful.

-- Dropdown Menu using HTML, CSS & Javascript
In this video, I cover how to build a suckerfish style HTML/CSS dropdown menu. A little bit of Javascript is used to deal with IE6 and IE7 compatibility issues.

-- Introduction to Superfish: a Dropdown Menu Plugin for jQuery
This is a short video introducing a jquery plugin that I use quite often for dropdown menus. Based on a suckerfish style menu, it adds some additional features like PNG based drop shadow on the drop downs, slide/fade animation, submenu indicators, etc.

Hope you find these useful! Please feel free to email me (ben [at] killersites.com) or post on the forum if you have questions.
