Hi,

I am new to PHP and want to design a web based application, basically type of accounting one so that data can be stored in a particular single location. I would need to use mysql for db.

Please help me to understand how long can it take to design a basic structure and also the things which i need to have and learn. I have installed wampserver and netbeans. Any source to understand how things should be designed would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and please post for any queary as I am unknown to web application design but eager to design something....

I would start by looking at http://killerphp.com.../beginners-php/ and doing the free videos, and potentially consider buying the course. NetTuts also has a pretty good free 13 video series on PHP: http://net.tutsplus....iving-into-php/

How long it will take you depends on a lot of factors: how fast you learn, how much time you have to devote to learning, how easy you find learning PHP, etc.
