I agree with what you say.

The point of my article was to say that for the vast majority of web projects that web designers will run into, PHP is the best solution.

If I was finding myself in a larger project, I MIGHT consider other options like a .NET of say Java with the Spring framework.

… But PHP with Zend I think may be able handle many enterprise jobs.

Coldfusion and JSP are both based on Java, so if you think Java is good then CF/JSP shouldn’t be that bad. Although i really don’t like CF but it is still good for designers and some newbie developers who know nothing else.

while ASP.NET, we gotta remember that nowaday, some web projects are really HUGE that you need a .NET or JAVA level OOP framework to handle. I have a web project that have 250 classes, i am not going to write that in PHP sorry. ASP.NET is nothing good without a proper use of controls and a good design pattern.

Of course, for a project that take only few months to implement, i would still prefer PHP.

Stefan, if u like Joomla as a CMS in PHP, u can give DotNetNuke a try.

On the other hand, I think my php video tutorials (www.killerphp.com) make PHP pretty easy.

I think this statement came from your personal case, yes PHP is cool, i love it personally, I also love Rails and Classic ASP.

many web designers have choose PHP because they dont want to build their own application, they only need a ready to use website with little tweaking, yes in this case PHP is better there are lot of free ready to use web base application like wordpress, joomla, mambo etc.

but if you need to build from the scratch, Classic ASP is the most easy, the most simple among others.
